Our client is growing and they need to add a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to their staff.  The client does precision machining for the aerospace, defense, medical device and electronic industries.  You will lead and manage all process engineering and quality assurance functions and activities. Their plant is located in the N.W. Twin Cities suburbs.
 
Duties:

  • Serve as a member of company's management team ($10,000,000 in gross annual revenue)
  • Lead 10 Quality Assurance, Process Engineers, Tool Room shop support personnel
  • Meet customer production deadline requirements by managing engineering resources, including machines and personnel
  • Set, track and drive company goals related to areas of responsibility, including quality, Continuous Improvements (Lean and 5S), tooling, supply chain, process verification and business innovation
  • Work with all personnel on quality, engineering issues, APQP
  • Help create and adhere to departmental budget and help with forecasting
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and qualified to perform their jobs and conform to safety, environmental, housekeeping and operational policies
  • Provide when necessary process planning and machine cycle time estimates for quote estimates and shop production
  • Provide technical assistance to Sales in communicating to customers and to enable company to win new work
  • Develop and design fixtures and a variety tooling such as cutting tools, dies, gauges and fixtures for testing, prototype building, pilot plant production or other activities related to the manufacture of parts
  • Prepare all documents integral to the manufacturing process of new or existing parts
  • Research and justify capital equipment expenditures for efficient and economical manufacture of products

 Requirements

  • 10+ years  in manufacturing, including 5+ years of precision machining 
  • A strong, hands-on engineering professional with exceptional leaderships, analytical and organizational skills
  • The greater your engineering academic qualifications the better, but the right experience is most important
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, CMM, Vision, Conventional Metrology 
  • Experience with process improvement & cost containment practices
  • Good computer skills
