Our client is a supplier of metal parts for the agricultural equipment industry and they need a Production Planner / Scheduler.  Purpose of the job is to maintain production schedule and related documentation and inventory control process to ensure on time customer delivery.   You will report to the Director of Operations and coordinate with supervisors, facilitators and customer service on any issue that may impede the ability of the facility to meet the production schedule.
 
Primary Duties:

  • Develop, maintain, and update the production schedule for the facility based on customer requests, production plans, and priorities
  • Coordinates with the materials manager to ensure necessary material is available to meet upcoming production needs
  • Coordinates with supervisors to ensure appropriate staffing to run at maximum capacity level
  • Defines sequence of orders
  • Supplies the required work bills and other paperwork required to complete the schedule 
  • Ensures that corrections to paperwork and Epicor are completed and ensures that any changes are communicated and completed
  • Coordinates with Customer Service and customer-specific requests for updates or information
  • Updates the daily and weekly status reports and production schedules
  • Operates safely following all Safety policies and procedures
  • Works to ensure that the direct labor workforce is best utilized and that work in process is minimized 
  • Participates in and supports month-end inventory process including counting material, entering data, and facilitating the inventory process
  • Coordinates service and schedules for outside services to follow our internal production requirements and scheduling

 
Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Operations Planning or Business, or other related field or equivalent experience
  • Background in purchasing
  • Strong math and analytical skills required
  • Experience working in manufacturing production environment in a purchasing capacity
  • Excellent process and problem solving skills
  • Strong team player with excellent people skills; able to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written) and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and, at times, conflicting priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • ISO 9001 experience

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Production Scheduling and/or Material Control in a manufacturing facility
  • Experience using Epicor or scheduling program
  • ISO 9001 experience
  • (QRM) Quick Response Manufacturing
