Large international automotive supplier of automotive rubber components has immediate need for a Project Engineer who either lives in, or has strong ties to New Hampshire. The details below are an "ideal" but they will consider an ENTRY Level Engineer who lives in New Hampshire or has strong ties to New Hampshire!–they cannot sponsor any visas.

Project Engineer 

Manages the design and production planning for new and current production programs. This involves parts received during the quote stage through design development, prototype stages, and production PPAP to start of production and process stability. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Quotes: 

  • Manages new quotes and getting a response back to Sales/Customer 
  • Review incoming part prints, statement of work, specifications and other items received from customer to adequately quote 
  • The output would be a selection of material, a design, team feasiblility form, a presentation on open issues, quality gate A, PQRM form, completed cost package containing tooling, piece price and timing

Design: 

  • Review customer requirements/ highlight and communicate to team, material selection and approval at customer with required data, develop design within package space and performance requirements, test requirements DVP/DVPR, Sign-off on 3D models, Sign-off on prints, GDT scheme, DFMEA

Project: 

  • As the Lead for program development, utilizes APQP/ISO/TS 16949/ FNST PDP process to implement prototype and production bonded piston seals projects 
  • Process uses PmPoint as a program tool defining FNST and customer program dates 
  • Organize Quality Gate reviews and sign-offs at program stages, organizes and leads weekly meeting with BPS team members 
  • Manages internal and external resources for projects 
  • Tracks key success indicators (cost, quality and timeliness) for programs throughout the development and launch phases of the project 
  • Releases engineering documents in Quality control system 
  • Quickly resolves production concerns and quality issues during the production cycle of launched product 
  • Completes planning and capital appropriation requests as well as manages capital spending to budgeted levels 
  • Manages packaging development with customer 
  • Supports the Sales and Applications Engineering staff in Corporate office to help land new business and predict the needs of  customers 
  • Interfaces with Customer Engineering staff to ensure that the design needs of the customer are met 
  • Visits customers and vendors as required

Requirements: 

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or technical discipline required 
  • Five years experience in Project Engineering required 
  • Working knowledge of rubber/plastic compression and injection molding processes preferred 
  • Previous experience in rubber product design with a high level of customer and vendor interaction preferred 
  • Computer literate with knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing packages and Microsoft Project

Salary : $60,000 – $90,000
