Quality Assurance and Food Safety Manager

The Quality Assurance (QA) and Food Safety Manager manage the Quality and Food Safety and programs.

Oversight and monitoring of operational processes for compliance with policies and procedures to include, but not limited to, GMP, SSOP, HACCP, SQF, FSSC, and other regulatory and company pre-requisite programs, audits (internal and third party), and supporting company or customer QA programs.

Close communication with production, purchasing, sales and R&D regarding acceptance, rejection and disposition of raw materials and finished products and is accountable for monitoring and ensuring a high standard of food processing sanitation at the pre-operational and operational stages of production.

Necessary support to operations to ensure consistent high quality products are produced and maintained as well as proper costs control, food safety, sanitation, and safety performance.

Directly manages QA Supervisor, QA lead personnel, and QA Technicians.  Indirectly manages 300 production employees by providing oversight and training regarding food safety and quality.


Must have at least 5 years of progressively responsible Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience.
Minimum 4 years of management experience.
Good microbiological experience as it applies to food manufacturing
Understands and is compliant with GMP standards as well as FSSC, BRC, or SQF requirements

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
  • HACCP certification
  • PCQI certification (Preferred)

Required Experience:

  • Industrial food processing facility: 5 years
  • Food Safety: 4 years
  • Management: 4 years
  • Microbiology lab: 3 years
  • Quality Assurance: 4 years

Salary : $60,000 – $70,000
