Sanitation Manager
 
The Sanitation Manager oversees and directs sanitation and cleaning functions throughout the facility. Leadership of sanitation employees. Ensures new hires are properly trained.  Maintains a safe work environment and ensures GMPs are followed.  Responsible for proper record keeping and documentation as required.
 
 Duties

  • Provide direction to sanitation associates in the cleaning and sanitizing of food processing equipment, floors, walls, ceilings, restrooms, and break areas.
  • Trains crew members on chemical manufacturers recommendation for application of cleaning chemicals
  • Insure effective cleaning through proper training and visual inspection.
  • Complete and maintain verification paperwork. 
  • Perform pre-operation inspections with Production Managers.
  • Determine the suitability of candidates for hire.
  • Understand and implement safety procedures and GMPs. 
  • Responsible for ensuring current SOPs are followed. 
  • Works closely with engineering and maintenance to identify capital expense needs and ensures appropriate preventative maintenance programs are utilized
  • Sets the direction for ongoing sanitation verification activities and validation testing
  • Acts as sanitation lead in the process of assessing and mitigating food safety risks associated with construction and major maintenance
  • Engages technical experts from corporate, industry experts and chemical/equipment suppliers to troubleshoot any sanitation challenges and identify novel technologies and methodologies that improve sanitation effectiveness
  • Assigns and monitors Site wide sanitation areas of responsibilities for all shifts
  • Develops and implements all sanitation related training for sanitation and plant employees as needed

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, experience will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of experience of Sanitation experience in a food processing/manufacturing environment with at least two years of management experience
  • Knowledgeable of regulatory requirements set forth in CFR Chapter 21 Part 110 Good Manufacturing Processes
  • Knowledgeable of MSDS and Personal Protective Equipment
  • HACCP trained with certificate
  • Knowledgeable of GFSI program specifically SQF to act as team member and auditor, prefer SQF Practitioner with certificate of training
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • A full complement of business computer literacy skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database software etc.) is preferred.
  • Perform independent work related to projects and/or routine activities.
  • Meet deadlines and work under pressure with limited supervision.
  • Works well in a team environment.

Salary : $65,000 – $80,000
