TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

We are now looking for an experienced Technical Sale Representative for our Pulp & Paper Segment. . Our Technical Sales Representatives are familiar with influencing stakeholders; and collaborating with others in a paper manufacturing environment. Demonstrating abilities leading and participating on teams is a daily function of this role.  Your style of working is results-oriented and strong planning and organizational skills are required. You are an exceptional communicator in both one on one and presentation settings.  You can develop and maintain relationships with everyone in a manufacturing site from the operators to the mill manager.

Client Pulp & Paper offers unique expertise in applying chemicals and supporting pulp and paper producers to innovate and constantly improve their operational efficiency and end-product quality. This current career opportunity is in our Northeast District, servicing mills in the Albany/Saratoga area of NY state. Initial duties will be focused on supporting growth in the territory leading to the assignment of accounts and your own territory. The ideal candidate will have applications/process experience, is ambitious, a self-starter, with a can-do attitude, and team player.

What you need:   

  • Bachelor's degree) level and/or equivalent field experience in paper science, chemistry, biology, microbiology, or chemical engineering.  2-5 years’ experience in the paper industry
  • Ability to develop Key Account or Project Plans and execute with discipline
  • Strong emphasis on documenting ROI of new and existing applications
  • Ability to develop “trust based” relationships with key buyers
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting

 Experience in the following areas preferred:

  • Kraft pulp production
  • Alkaline fine grades
  • Fluff pulp
  • Paper making operations
  • Retention and drainage/silica chemistries
  • Sizing, particularly ASA
  • General wet-end applications    

Salary : $90,000 – $100,000
