Job Summary:

There are limitless possibilities in this Account Manager role. This respected Automation Engineering and Equipment Manufacturing company is looking for an Account Manager to initiate global sales and corporate growth. This person will have a strong passion to grow an active sales funnel and exceeding self-expectations in developing strategic sales and marketing plans for individual clients. Each client will have its own specific requirements, this role will engage on a technical level to understand those specifications to successfully present viable solutions. This role will require travel to customer sites to promote the capabilities of the company; work with customers to determine initial concepts and feasibility of potential automation and/or build-to-print of Equipment and Automation systems and projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Devise and present the optimum manufacturing/automation solution for clients by working in partnership with Applications Engineering, other engineering groups, and the supply chain
  • Manage sales from assigned accounts and market sectors.
  • Assist in the organization and preparation of industry trade shows
  • Work alongside the Marketing team in co-developing, and applying branding processes and tactics in the marketplace. 
  • Develop and meet order bookings forecasts on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, and as requested.
  • Develop, initiate and execute penetration plans
  • Operate within the budget parameters and the sales plan.
  • Planning and preparation of sales presentations
  • Assist in preparing proposals, estimates, and operational specifications and maintaining a high degree of satisfaction for customers.
  • Participate in contract negotiation including Capital Purchasing Agreements, Ts and Cs documents, financial terms, technical specifications, and delivery.
  • Prepare regular reports on new markets, new technology, trends, competition,  environment, and customers’ CAPEX cycles.
  • Leverage multiple sources to identify and qualify potential clients, such as cold-calling, personal and professional networks, contacts with existing or prospective clients, etc.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7 years of successful and verifiable experience in strategic selling and negotiation skills in “solution and systems sales” of capital equipment or industrial automation.
  • Strong presentation skills to present to internal stakeholders and existing and potential clients to sell technical concepts.
  • Must possess an active network of contacts in the relevant markets segment or segments to leverage multiple sales opportunities
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation skills, representing the company’s long-term business requirements on multi-year contracts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering degree preferred) and a secondary degree in business management, sales, marketing, or a related field.
