Job Summary
We have been retained to find a Branch Operations Manager for an established industrial distribution business in Miami. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys running a busy shop operation, developing people, improving processes, and keeping customers at the center of day-to-day execution.
The Branch Operations Manager will oversee the operational side of a 40,000-square-foot branch generating approximately $6 million in annual sales. The role has responsibility across production, inventory, counter sales, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations, with six to seven direct reports across these functions.
This is more than a traditional warehouse management position. The right person will understand how the different parts of a branch operation work together and will be comfortable moving between people leadership, workflow, inventory accuracy, production priorities, customer needs, equipment, and hands-on problem solving.

Responsibilities
This person will take ownership of daily branch operations and ensure the shop runs safely, efficiently, and with a high level of accuracy and customer service.

• Lead daily operations across production, inventory, counter sales, shipping, receiving, and warehouse functions.
• Manage, coach, schedule, and develop six to seven direct reports across the branch operation.
• Coordinate shop production and final assembly activities to meet customer requirements and delivery commitments.
• Maintain strong inventory accuracy through disciplined receiving, transaction processing, cycle counting, and inventory controls.
• Improve workflow, operating procedures, communication, and accountability across the facility.
• Ensure inbound and outbound orders are processed accurately and on time.
• Oversee equipment and shop maintenance schedules and help ensure machinery, tools, and work areas remain safe and operational.
• Support counter sales and customer-facing shop activities when operational needs require hands-on leadership.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels and participate in hiring, performance management, and employee development.
• Partner closely with senior operations leadership and branch sales leadership to improve service, productivity, safety, and overall branch performance.

Skills & Qualifications
The strongest candidate will bring hands-on operations leadership from an industrial distribution, technical service, fluid power, hydraulics, hose and fittings, or closely related environment. This person should be comfortable leading a relatively small team where the Operations Manager is expected to be visible in the shop and willing to step in when needed.

• Proven experience managing a branch, shop, warehouse, distribution, or industrial operations environment.
• Experience overseeing multiple operational functions such as production, warehouse, inventory, shipping and receiving, and customer counter operations.
• Experience in fluid power, hydraulics, industrial distribution, or related technical products such as hose assemblies, fittings, valves, couplings, pumps, cylinders, connectors, or other fluid-handling components is highly desirable.
• Hands-on familiarity with the assembly, application, or servicing of hydraulic and fluid power components, including hose and fittings, is especially valuable.
• Ability to lead, train, coach, and hold employees accountable in a hands-on operating environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, cycle counting, receiving accuracy, order fulfillment, and warehouse processes.
• Experience coordinating preventive maintenance and helping troubleshoot shop equipment or machinery.
• Working knowledge of operational metrics, process improvement, workflow, scheduling, and productivity.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and business or inventory management systems.
• Bilingual English and Spanish capability is strongly preferred for this Miami operation.

Location

This position is based on site in Miami, Florida. Preference will initially be given to qualified candidates already in the South Florida market, although relocation may be considered for the right person.

Compensation & Benefits

Target base salary is approximately $75,000-$80,000, plus an annual performance bonus and car allowance. Final compensation will depend on the candidate’s relevant operations leadership, technical experience, and overall fit for the role. Comprehensive employee benefits are also provided.
