POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development & Operations Manager position is a newly created position responsible for the development and execution of a business plan that accelerates the company’s growth in the CNG Transportation & Marketing, Field Gas Condition & Compression, and LNG markets. The business plan, will include identifying natural gas suppliers, equipment providers, and customer segmentation to identify the highest priority business segments to pursue. Prospecting, acquiring, and maintaining new customers in these business segments as well as other opportunities throughout the company’s core geographic areas. Maintains the administrative functions and streamlined processes required to maintain customer satisfaction throughout the sales and delivery processes.
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead sales and operational efforts and manage the total P&L of this new business segment by executing the approved business plan
- Strengthen existing customer relationships through proactive relationship building strategies to insure customer retention.
- Collaborate with the company’s transportation and oil & gas field services businesses on opportunities to migrate customers from diesel fuel supply to CNG, LNG, or field gas product supply.
- Develop pricing models for the products being sold and collaborate with the company’s transportation arm to determine the optimum pricing of freight for the services provided.
- Identify the resources needed to provide the appropriate services (equipment rental, field labor services (trailer loading, unloading, operation of conditioning & compressing equipment) to effectively provide services to customers and enhance the company’s non-fuel revenue.
- Engage with the company’s safety resources to ensure our team and subcontractors operate safely and maintain compliance with company and customer safety requirements and reporting.
- Identify and manage subcontractors that can supplement our team in providing services to our customers.
- Oversee the delivery and set up of required equipment, ensuring the equipment is properly maintained to provide reliable and safe operations.
- Manage the field team of employees who will work on site providing services.
- Provide quality service to the customers through daily contact including order receipt, problem resolution, quoting, and delivery implication resolution.
- Develop and ensure that detailed processes are utilized for every task to eliminate mistakes, spills, releases, and injuries.
- Manage and maintain bid contracts on a historical basis as well as deadlines for bid renewals. Organize bids in a manageable electronic version for future references on volume, pricing, competition. Monitor bids customers’ contractual agreements to assure customer’s contractual obligations are known and met.
- Effectively complete customer quotes in a timely and efficient manner. Work to give all areas ample time to process credit review as well as historical pricing by Supply.
- Ensure the customers are invoiced accurately in the least amount of time possible with a maximum of 48 hours from ship date and the goal of 24 hours from ship date. Resolve A/R discrepancies quickly.
- Prospect new customer opportunities to build and maintain a detailed list of prospects and in turn potential customers.
- Continue to pursue the major account prospects targeted through marketing campaigns while building relationships with the key purchasers of the accounts.
- Exceed volume and gross profit objectives through the acquisition of new quality/volume bids.
- Work with the credit dept. to maximize account potential within each account’s credit limit.
- Communicate to resolve current delivery issues and prevent potential delivery issues.
- Work with the supply dept. to maximize account potential through index and risk management programs.
- Manage complex and technical sales process by understanding supply and demand dynamics in the petroleum markets.
- Provide excellent service by communicating clearly and professionally to customers, management and all fellow employee owners.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business Administration, Marketing or other relevant area of concentration from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Proven success in the Oil and gas and CNG and CNG transportation businesses
- Ability to listen to others, express ideas both orally and in writing and provide relevant and timely information to clients, managers, etc.
- Ability to understand problems and make timely, practical business decisions.
- Strong computer skills; Experience working in Windows, Internet Explorer, and MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of the petroleum industry preferred.
