YOUR ROLE WITH THE COMPANY

  • Provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) support for the Columbia, South office and other offices as needed
  • The primary goal is to create professional looking maps and site plans and manage spatial and CAD data
  • Other tasks may include finding appropriate data sources and methods, develop technical workflows, and modeling to support project needs
  • Will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all geospatial project data and maintaining technical documentation and metadata, as appropriate
  • Create project GIS/CAD maps and exhibits
  • Research, compile, and review spatial data from public and proprietary sources
  • Perform specific GIS tasks, developing familiarity with projects and engineering/environmental design and operating procedures
  • Document project workflows, data sources, and data limitations
  • Set up and configure appropriate tools for field data collection based on project needs
  • Perform data transfer and postprocessing
  • Compile technical project data from various sources, including field notes and engineering plans
  • Assist in the development of GIS workflows, databases, and map products
  • Develops and prepares engineering drawings and designs from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, and other data according to client specifications
  • Draft detailed drawings and maps using Google Maps, GIS, and Xref files with AutoCAD and ArcGIS Pro
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects

BACKGROUND

  • Willing to hire people with no prior experience or experienced CAD design experts with multiple years’ experience – this company will mentor and train qualified, motivated individuals
  • Some College preferred
