We are excited to announce the launch of a new agricultural construction initiative and are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to work with our Outland Design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of agricultural RNG construction projects including farm manure management and renewable natural gas projects.

The majority of our agricultural team is located in Madison, however this position could be based out of our Madison, Waukesha or Green Bay offices.

Project sites are generally located in Wisconsin, although limited travel within the upper-Midwest may be required.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the construction of agricultural projects from start to finish, including managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate and communicate with project stakeholders to ensure that projects are successfully constructed.
  • Monitor progress and quality of work on job sites and ensure that safety protocols are being followed.
  • Develop project schedules and budgets. Coordinate with subcontractors to maintain those schedules and budgets.
  • Enforce compliance with safety requirements.
  • Manage all necessary documentation, including contracts, permits, and reports.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in construction and/or construction management.
  • Enjoys working on farms and in other agricultural settings.
  • Advanced knowledge of building products and construction processes.
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to meet deadlines and lead construction projects.
  • Have strong communication skills and be comfortable working directly with clients, design staff and subcontractors.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Construction Management, Agricultural Engineering or Civil Engineering (or a related degree) is preferred but not required.
