The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading, planning, directing, and coordinating the work activities for 4 process technicians and resources necessary for streamlining and improving processes

Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will work in Operations and report to the Plant Manager
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and process improvements per safety protocols, product specifications, and quality controls.
The Manufacturing Engineer supports Project Teams in the development of new products to customers. The Manufacturing Engineer is also responsible for effective and efficient project planning.
Responsibilities:
Review internal and external designs for manufacturability
Processes that are typical to our manufacturing process include: extrusion, mixing, blending, batching, die cutting, and assembly
Develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods
Ability to work on teams with a creative mind for continually improving process/systems using Lean methodologies and concepts
Ability to plan projects from start to finish using project management tools
Demonstrate ability to identify project requirements, divide projects into manageable tasks and deliverables while mitigating risks and obstacles to ensure the plan is completed on time
Uphold and comply with all safety, environmental, and quality protocols.
Lead, direct, coach and develop a team of process technicians
Requirements:
BA/BS/AAS degree required, ideally in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or closely related
Must be familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts; prefer six-sigma or lean certifications
2-7+ years of manufacturing experience; Must have experience in chemicals and or polymers experience
Must have experience leading projects and or managing, influencing, coaching, leading, or directing a team of employees
Must be capable of problem solving, multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment
Skilled with data analysis in MS Excel and ERP systems; prefer experience with Minitab
