Growing Manufacturing Co near Pittsburgh (30 mins north of downtown), PA has a need for a Mechancial Engineer
Travel required to company locations within US. Overnight stays estimated to be 30% to 50% of time.
Occasional International travel may be required
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred (Civil, Electrical or Industrial to be considered dependent on relevant experience)
- Must have 2+ years of experience in relevant industrial design.
- Must be able to demonstrate project management experience on complex projects
- Strong written and oral communication abilities and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or to participate on and lead cross functional teams
- Strong analytical skills to access situations and drive decision making.
- Solid skills in manufacturing process and a general business understanding.
- Knowledge of project management principles including proficient use of tools and software such as MS Project or other systems.
- Experience working in a global cross-functional project environment.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with vendors to define project scope, resolve technical issues, and assist with preparation of procurement documents.
- Preparation of engineering project proposals.
- Check vendor drawings to insure design accuracy and compliance with specifications
- Develop, evaluate, implement and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of wood products
- Assess the availability of materials and their safety and environmental impact on a facility
- Responsible for new product concept, product development, pilot plant tests on new products, cost reduction formulation and reverse engineering.
- Support the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations
