Are you passionate about working in an Orthopedic setting? Interested in Sports medicine? Do you have strong experience with Total Joint?  Our firm is in search of a Physician Assistant to be working in a supporting role to a team or Orthopedic Surgeons. In this role you will be in the OR, rounding, updating treatment plans, admits, discharges, work with case managers and be a resource advocate for the patients and their family members.
Our client is a Ambulatory Surgical Center in Oregon located about 2 hours from Portland and an hour south of Salem.  This location puts you an hour from the coast and an hour from the mountains!  Excellent environment offering a unique work/ life experience.
Our ideal candidate should have personality! You will be working alongside 19 different surgeons and a group of Certified Surgical First Assists and Physician Assistants.
  • Assist physicians with a variety of orthopedics surgeries, including trauma and total joint replacements.
  • Independently make rounds in the hospital on orthopedic patients
  • See patients in clinic in conjunction with MDs

There is NO CALL with this role. However if you wish to take call, you can earn bonuses!

Ortho specialty, privately held, excellent surgeons, outstanding QA program, have highly trained long term staff that knows how to work collaboratively as a team and a beautiful facility.  Management has the support of medical advisory and governing body.  A very stable company with a great reputation in the area.  This facility does around 4500 surgeries per year, averaging about 18 per day.

Requirements:
To be considered you should have at least 1-2 years orthopedic and/or surgical experience

Must have current valid Physical Assistant License in the State of Oregon, or be able to obtain this license before hire date

Work setting/ what to expect:
The hours vary. Early mornings could be expected because this position does rounds at the hospitals.  The number of patients varies based on which physician(s) you would be working with and the day.
Benefits
Our client offers medical, dental, life, 401(k) (Match up to 3% of salary and 7% profit sharing) $2500 annually to spend on meetings/travel, paid CME time (no set amount), paid time off at the rate of .06 for every hour worked, and 7 paid holidays per year in addition to the accrued time off.
