Position: Quality Inspector
Shift: 1st| Hours: 7AM – 3PM 
Type: Full-Time | Mode: Direct Placement / Contract-To-Hire
Pay Scale: $24 – 31/hr | Industry: Manufacturing
 

The Quality Inspector plays a pivotal role as the primary point of contact for incoming inspection of products. This position is integral in measuring and validating the quality of parts to ensure client’s consistent delivery of reliable, high-value products and services to customers. We are seeking an individual with keen attention to detail capable of meticulously inspecting parts against specified drawings and identifying any irregularities. The successful candidate must execute their duties diligently and align inspection outcomes with Goodway’s established standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Focus:

  • Perform general inspection tasks as the direct point of product inspection.
  • Conduct inspections on all incoming materials and parts from the production floor.
  • Execute precise measurements and validations based on clients drawings, utilizing tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
  • Review supplier documentation to ensure the accuracy of parts.
  • Process all parts efficiently through the ERP system in adherence to documented procedures.
  • Maintain an organized 5S-compliant workstation.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to review all rejects and associated documents.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to resolve items on the Discrepant Material Report.
  • Process parts through the ERP system for final disposition.
  • Maintain detailed records of completed inspections.
  • Provide input to other departments based on completed inspections.
  • Generate comprehensive Discrepant Material Reports for rejected parts.

Product Compliance:

  • Review First Article Inspections for new parts or new supply sources, as applicable.
  • Maintain records of all supplier documents, such as Certificates of Analysis, material certifications, etc.
  • Offer a quality perspective in relevant matters as required.
  • Take necessary actions to meet unique customer requirements concerning quality and safety.
 

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality inspection.
  • Background in manufacturing, preferably within the industrial consumer goods sector.
  • Trained in general safety practices (OSHA).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in Product Safety Compliance.
  • Certification in 6 Sigma or Lean methodologies.
