Are you a Quality Lab Technician who wants to be part of a newly opened plant that will be producing injection molded products that have previously been manufactured in China? If you can answer “yes” to this question, you should consider this opportunity.
Reporting to the Quality/EHS Manager, you may work one of the following shifts: M-F, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm or third shift, Sun-TH 10:00 pm-6:00 am. As a Quality Lab Technician you will oversee, apply, and maintain the Quality Assurance systems and procedures to ensure that customers receive products that meet or exceed quality requirements.
Essential Responsibilities of the Quality Lab Technician:
  • Performs a variety of quality control tests on products at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards.
  • Responsible for constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment. (Starrett Vision System, CMM, Vacuum chamber, torque meters, force measurements and measurement equipment.)
  • Responsible for all new and existing product testing.
  • Performs full Design Verification Plan and Report testing (DVP&R)
  • Provides customer support, including line trials, site testing and quality notifications.
  • Records statistical data.
  • Analyzes data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards.
  • Performs ISO audits
Your background should include:
  • Associate’s degree or higher in metrology, mathematics, or related program
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality management systems in a high volume manufacturing plant
  • Working knowledge of statistical process controls, preferably in the plastics industry
  • Experience with Vision systems or CMM
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, Excel Pivot Tables preferred
  • Experience providing Quality Systems training to employees
  • Familiarity with gauge/inspection process
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Solid experience in process, product, and system audits
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
