Summary
Write technical materials, such as equipment manuals, parts manuals including exploded view drawings, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. Document operating parameters and settings for industrial equipment. Designs and produces material to be utilized by customers and employees during the setup and test of machines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Education and/or Experience
Technical degree (AS +Experience or BS Preferred) or 5 years of experience in a technical field is a requirement. Experience working with industrial machinery is preferred.
Communication and Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Engineering drawings and illustrations. Ability to write business correspondence, and manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers. Proficiency in English language and documenting skills with good understanding of technical terminology. Ability to write in a simple, concise, and accurate manner. Excellent knowledge on the writing styles for technical documents. Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures, amounts, and convert metric to standard. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher and Adobe packages and PDF.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Effective time management skills and abilities to meet tight deadlines, ability to work independently with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy are required. The individual must be a self-starter and have the ability to multi-task.
