SUMMARY:
Treatment of athletes of all ages, ability and sports.
Prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of physical injuries as well as addressing emotional and mental aspects of injuries.
Skilled in treatment of sprains, strains, contusions and fractures.
Measure, examine, analyze and/or provide instruction to determine or evaluate the components of physical fitness to healthy and/or (ill health) diseased individuals.
To assist in improving the components of physical fitness and promoting the prevention of disease and disability.
Establish communications with athletic director, school employees, coaches, parents and medical professionals.
Assists with the development and organization of individual and group rehabilitation programs.
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for coordinating all on-site sports medicine coverage, taping, pre-season and post season physical screenings, injury clinics, training room management and budgeting of training supplies.
Responsible for being knowledgeable of standard of practice for the practice of Athletic Training in a school and outpatient rehabilitation setting and regulations established by the payers.
Demonstrates critical thinking to assure the delivery of safe, quality care to adolescents, adult and geriatric clients.
Responsible for excelling in courteous and respectful customer service at all times to every customer.
Assures the safety of all customers.
Effectively communicates with all customers.
Effectively communicates & collaborates with other healthcare team members and between intra/inter departments, adheres to organizational policy and procedures, abides by regulatory/accrediting body requirements and professional practice standards.
Assists with the daily operations and collecting statistics within the medical fitness center.
Responsible for completing in a timely manner, all assigned tasks and duties utilizing multi-tasking skills.
Responsible for assuring confidentiality of customer information and departmental information.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of accredited program for Athletic Trainers, Bachelors of Athletic Training or equivalent degree required.
Certified Athletic Trainer required.
Ability to work variable hours.
Current CPR certificate required.

The position is located south of Mount Vernon and east of Columbus.
The department has a great team and the director is well respected.
They are expanding and need one for a local high school that contracts with the hospital.
The person has to be flexible on hours as it depends on the sport and the event.

The position will be salaried between 50K-66K and a full benefit package is offered.
