Lead HR Strategy at a Multi-Site Manufacturing Leader

Step into a high-impact role where your leadership sets the tone for people, process, and growth

Location: Bangor, Maine
Scope: Multiple facilities | 200+ employees
Compensation: $100K – 110K base + 10–15% bonus + relocation support

Why This Role?

This is a rare opportunity to step into an HR leadership role with room to build, improve, and influence. The company is well-established, profitable, and backed by a parent organization with a strong reputation. But its HR function is ready for a refresh—this is your chance to shape it.

You’ll inherit a team with heart but little structure, and you’ll have the autonomy to design better systems, realign roles, and champion people initiatives that make a difference. This is not a back-office HR role. You’ll be at the center of decision-making, trusted by leadership, and visible across the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

Drive HR Strategy – Lead all HR operations across multiple locations, setting and executing the people agenda alongside senior leadership.

Build Structure – Evaluate and rationalize a small, distributed HR support team. Clarify roles, streamline systems, and drive efficiency.

Own Talent – Lead recruiting, onboarding, performance, employee relations, and workforce planning across diverse locations.

Lead Through Change – Act as a cultural bridge across sites, supporting stability while evolving HR into a true business partner.

Ensure Compliance – Manage employment law, documentation, and HR policy updates with consistency and care.

Skills

  • Leaders who are hands-on and strategic—ready to roll up their sleeves without losing sight of the big picture.

  • HR professionals with a manufacturing or industrial background, who understand the nuances of multi-site or rural workforces.

  • Change agents who enjoy bringing structure to ambiguity, especially in environments where legacy systems are ready for an upgrade.

  • Strong communicators who know how to build trust across all levels, from the shop floor to the boardroom.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience

  • Experience in a production, industrial, or manufacturing setting

  • Strong grounding in compliance, employee relations, and team development

  • SHRM certification strongly preferred
