PUBLIC FINANCE ASSOCIATE – MID-LEVEL
Chicago, IL | Detroit, MI | Houston, TX | Milwaukee, WI

Our client, a highly respected AmLaw 50 national law firm, is seeking a mid-level Public Finance Associate to join their Finance Practice Group. This position is available in Chicago, Detroit, Houston, or Milwaukee.

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active Bar admission in Illinois, Michigan, Texas, or Wisconsin, as applicable, in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of substantive public finance experience.
  • Mid-level bond counsel, lender’s counsel, and disclosure counsel experience.
  • Experience working with state agencies, municipalities, and governmental entities.
  • Knowledge of the principles of tax, securities, uniform commercial code, and contract law applicable to public finance.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, organizational, and matter management skills.
  • Law school concentration in business law is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent borrowers, issuers, financial institutions, and governmental entities in public finance transactions.
  • Provide legal services in areas such as healthcare finance, economic development, housing, TIF and special assessments, infrastructure, and education.
  • Draft and negotiate complex financial documents.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys on high-stakes public finance matters.
  • Direct interaction with clients and partners on significant matters, working independently and as part of a team.
