Finance Controller
Location: Southwestern, OH (between Cincinnati and Dayton)
Overview: We are a specialized recruitment firm retained to find a Finance Controller for a leading company in the metal packaging industry, known for its excellent benefits and supportive work environment. Position Summary: As the Finance Controller, you will report to the CFO and oversee two direct reports. This role requires a strategic thinker with leadership skills to drive financial performance, manage financial operations, reduce inventory, and improve inventory management. This position offers significant growth and advancement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support growth and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Prepare financial statements and reports.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
- Supervise two direct reports and support sales and purchasing departments.
- Exposure to German accounting is a plus.
- Some auditing experience would be useful.
- Work on reducing inventory and managing working inventory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA is a plus.
- 7-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Made to Manage is a plus.
- German language skills and auditing experience are a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in companies with $3M or greater in sales.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary of $80,000 – $120,000, depending on experience, with a top-notch benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
