As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing both existing and new customer relationships, ensuring smooth communication from initial quote through to final product delivery. Your role will be key in driving the growth and success of our organization by identifying new business opportunities, attending trade shows, and developing strategic partnerships.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Maintain and nurture existing client relationships by handling day-to-day interactions such as processing quotations, orders, answering engineering questions, and facilitating clear communication between the company and customers.
    • Work closely with the Senior Customer Service Manager to ensure all customer inquiries and requests are handled promptly and effectively.
  • Business Development:

    • Identify and develop new business opportunities by building strong customer relationships, attending trade shows, and conducting on-site visits.
    • Stay informed on industry trends and leverage that knowledge to drive growth and enhance the organization’s prospecting efforts.
  • Sales and Marketing Strategy:

    • Participate in the development and execution of the company’s sales and marketing strategy.
    • Manage relationships with marketing vendors and ensure marketing efforts align with company goals.
  • Customer Service Support:

    • Provide backup support to other Customer Managers as needed, ensuring seamless customer service operations.
  • ISO Compliance:

    • Fulfill ISO Quality System requirements as needed to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas for the department to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with an ERP system is highly preferred. Familiarity with E2 Shoptech/JobBoss2 and Paperless Parts would be a big plus.
  • Technical Aptitude:

    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply mathematical skills to customer projects.
  • Interpersonal Skills:

    • Excellent communication and listening skills with a strong focus on providing outstanding internal and external customer service.
  • Negotiation Skills:

    • Strong negotiation abilities with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes. Ability to be assertive when necessary while seeking common ground.
  • Organizational Skills:

    • Strong organizational and planning abilities to prioritize tasks, minimize errors, and maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
  • CAD and Drafting Skills:

    • Experience with CAD and drafting is a plus, enhancing your ability to collaborate with engineering teams on project specifications.
  • Team Player:

    • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset, ready to contribute and assist others to achieve shared goals.
