Finance Controller

Location: Southwestern, OH

Overview: We are a specialized recruitment firm retained to find a Finance Controller for a leading company in the metal packaging industry, known for its excellent benefits and supportive work environment. Situated in the vibrant southwestern region of Ohio, conveniently located between two Cincinnati and Dayton, known for its suburban charm and excellent quality of life.

Position Summary: As the Finance Controller, you will report to the CFO and oversee two direct reports. This role requires a strategic thinker with leadership skills to drive financial performance, manage financial operations, reduce inventory, and improve inventory management. This position offers significant growth and advancement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support growth and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Supervise two direct reports and support sales and purchasing departments.
  • Exposure to German accounting is a plus.
  • Some auditing experience would be useful.
  • Work on reducing inventory and managing working inventory.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA is a plus.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Made to Manage is a plus.
  • German language skills and auditing experience are a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in companies with $3M or greater in sales.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary of $80,000 – $120,000, depending on experience, with a top-notch benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
