Due to retirement, our client needs a Plant Controller. They are a nearly 70-year-old building materials manufacturing company in Northern Wisconsin. The Plant Controller will report to the Corporate Controller. This position will be responsible for all accounting functions for the plant.

What you will be doing:

  • Performs accounting tasks by applying GAAP to the preparation and maintenance of accounting records for the plant.
  • Compiles and sorts financial information to establish and maintain the standard cost and perpetual inventory systems for the plant.
  • Responsible for setting standards for raw material cost, labor routings and roll-ups and providing recommendations for cost efficiency.
  • Works on special projects regarding cost monitoring and estimating.
  • Prepares annual budget for manufacturing facility, reviews monthly actual cost vs. budget spending reports and discusses variances with the Plant Manager.

What they are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with cost accounting experience.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft products including Excel.
  • Some experience with an ERP system, preferably JD Edwards or AS400.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed.
  • Solid work history, they have no interest in job hoppers.
  • Must be organized and meticulous.
