Midwest Sales Manager 

A well-established industrial distribution business is looking for a hands-on District Sales Manager to lead the next chapter of growth across the Midwest.

This is a high-visibility opportunity for a sales leader who enjoys being in the field, developing people, strengthening customer relationships, and helping an established team gain renewed momentum. The business is part of a larger industrial platform with strong resources, broader product capabilities, and meaningful long-term growth potential.

The right person will not be a desk manager. This role is for someone who likes actively training their sales team, coaching in real time, building team connection, and helping them become sharper, more confident, and more effective in the field.What You’ll Do

You’ll lead a remote outside sales team across the Midwest, bringing structure, energy, and practical sales leadership to a group with strong opportunity ahead.

Key priorities include:

  • Coach, develop, and support outside sales professionals across a multi-state territory
  • Spend meaningful time in the field with Account Managers and customers
  • Strengthen sales fundamentals, accountability, and territory execution
  • Build stronger team connection across a remote sales organization
  • Deepen customer and supplier relationships
  • Help the team leverage a broader product portfolio and internal resources
  • Support profitable growth through stronger planning, follow-through, and field activity
  • Partner with internal operations, customer service, and technical resources to serve customers well

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader from technical, value-added distribution who understands field sales, industrial customers, and how to develop outside salespeople.

Strong fits may come from environments such as:

  • Technical industrial distribution
  • Applied industrial products, MRO, or other technical distribution models
  • Branch-based or regional industrial distribution businesses serving end users, contractors, manufacturers, plants, or process environments

Ideal Experience

  • Experience leading outside salespeople or Account Managers
  • Background in technical, value-added distribution
  • Comfort selling to or supporting industrial end users, plants, manufacturers, contractors, or process-oriented customers
  • Strong field coaching and team development skills
  • Ability to lead remote salespeople across a broad geography
  • Commercial understanding of revenue, margin, pricing discipline, and territory planning
  • Strong customer and supplier relationship skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the Midwest

Compensation and Travel
Compensation is expected to include a base salary around $140K-$145K, plus a significant bonus structure.

This person will ideally live near a strong airport. Travel is expected to be approximately 50% and will focus primarily on ride-alongs, customer visits, territory development, and hands-on sales leadership across the region.
