Job Summary

We've been retained to conduct a search for our client, a privately held, family-owned industrial technology company specializing in high-value capital equipment for manufacturing and industrial customers.

The company operates in a specialized industrial machinery and manufacturing technology space, helping customers expand production capabilities, improve product differentiation, and create new revenue opportunities through highly technical equipment and application expertise.

As the business continues to grow, it is investing in dedicated sales leadership to expand its U.S. market presence, develop new customer opportunities, and increase sales capacity for a company with a specialized product, long-standing technical expertise, and strong long-term potential.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a sales leader who enjoys creating opportunity, opening doors, and selling technical capital equipment into industrial and manufacturing environments.

Working closely with executive leadership, the person in this role will personally develop new business, build pipeline, travel to customers and trade shows, and help customers understand both the equipment and the business opportunity behind the investment.

This is not a passive account management role. The successful candidate will be highly active, persistent, technically curious, organized, and comfortable selling high-value capital equipment through long, consultative sales cycles.

Success will require a true business development mentality, strong follow-up discipline, comfort with technical conversations, and the maturity to engage business owners, executives, engineers, and plant-level decision-makers.

For someone who enjoys working closely with leadership, being highly visible within the organization, and helping drive the next phase of growth, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and closing new capital equipment opportunities while helping the company expand awareness and adoption of its technology in the U.S. market.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Personally develop, manage, and close capital equipment sales opportunities with manufacturers, OEMs, job shops, industrial service providers, and related technical customer groups
  • Build new pipeline through proactive outreach, targeted prospecting, trade shows, customer visits, referrals, market research, and follow-up with prior or assigned leads
  • Sell high-value industrial machinery and equipment by helping customers understand equipment capability, production value, quality impact, performance considerations, ROI, and business potential
  • Engage confidently with owners, presidents, CEOs, CFOs, engineers, operations leaders, plant managers, and technical buyers
  • Learn the company’s technology, equipment, process, documentation, quality standards, and customer applications deeply enough to speak credibly with sophisticated buyers
  • Maintain consistent CRM activity, including notes, follow-up tasks, pipeline updates, customer history, and forecast information
  • Travel to customer sites, trade shows, and target markets as needed to develop opportunities and move deals forward
  • Partner with leadership, technical resources, operations, customer service, and manufacturing support teams to ensure strong handoffs and internal alignment
  • Follow established company procedures and sales processes while bringing initiative, ownership, and professional persistence to the role
  • Represent the company with integrity, credibility, and a consultative approach in the marketplace

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of capital equipment sales experience, technical curiosity, business maturity, and new-business development drive.

Qualifications include:

  • Proven success selling capital equipment, industrial machinery, automation, production equipment, plant-floor equipment, or similar high-value industrial products
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business, develop self-sourced pipeline, open doors, and move long-cycle opportunities forward
  • Experience selling into manufacturing, OEM, job shop, industrial production, building products, architectural products, or adjacent technical manufacturing environments
  • Comfort selling equipment or technical solutions with average deal sizes in the six-figure range
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business owners, executives, engineers, technical buyers, plant leaders, and operations stakeholders
  • Strong technical learning ability and willingness to study product details, equipment capabilities, application requirements, performance data, customer use cases, and ROI
  • High level of organization, follow-up discipline, and CRM accountability
  • Strong work ethic, persistence, and ability to operate independently without heavy supervision
  • Ethical, professional, and process-oriented approach to selling and internal collaboration
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and regional market development
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent relevant experience will be considered

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation includes a targeted base salary of approximately $120,000 to $150,000, plus commissions tied to capital equipment sales.
Expected total compensation will depend on experience, performance, and ramp-up timeline.
Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, 401(k), and additional company-provided benefits.
