Apply for the CNC Milling Machinist (Second Shift) position
We are partnered with an AMAZING manufacturer in Grove City, OH on their search for experienced CNC MACHINISTS (2nd SHIFT). This role requires strong 4- and 5- axis milling experience within a high-mix, low volume production environment, and is responsible for maintaining quality, making in-process adjustments, and ensuring parts consistently meet tight tolerances.
The CNC Machinist (2nd Shift) hours are Monday-Thursday from 4:00pm-2:30am, and will require up to one month of training on first shift.
Responsibilities:
- Operate multiple 4- and 5- axis CNC Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs), many with the help of automation
- Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications for one-off and short-run production
- Load raw materials, secure workpieces, change tools, and make offsets for efficient and accurate machining
- Make in-process adjustments including tool wear offsets, work offsets, and minor machine corrections
- Inspect and measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, CMM, and other precision tools
- Review and understand CMM reports to verify dimensional accuracy
- Complete inspection and production reports to ensure documentation and workflow accuracy
- Troubleshoot machining issues, offsets, and tooling problems to maintain part quality and uptime
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in accordance with shop standards and 5S principles
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to reduce setup time, scrap, and cycle time
- Optimize machining processes by recommending updated tooling, fixturing, and cutting strategies
- Monitor production of parts and address issues as they arise
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 3+ years of CNC Machining Experience; 4- and 5- axis HMC experience highly preferred
- Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, and different types of metals
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and Fanuc Controls, including the ability to edit and troubleshoot G & M codes
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and GD&T
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques, including CMMs
