$90,000 – $115,000 Per Year + 10% BONUS
 
As the Product Development Chemist, you will be responsible for new product development and maintenance of existing product portfolio within a global and regional technology segment supporting the development of industrial coatings.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow existing experimental procedures and develop new procedures towards development of new products and performance testing of existing products.

• Generate reliable data, and consistently demonstrates the ability to contribute to the design of experiments.

• Lead independent projects and portions of larger project.

• Provides innovative technical solutions to challenging problems.

• Responsible for planning and coordinating technical activities for new projects.

• Consults with other chemists in the organization and field technical service personnel. Elicits input from customers, sales.

• Ensure compliance with all policies and business strategies including EH&S, business conduct, code of ethics, and all governmental regulations and laws.

Qualifications

• MS in Chemistry or Polymer Science with a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience.

• Knowledge of epoxy, vinyl ester, polyurethane, polyurea, and polyaspartics formulating principles is recommended.

• Drive continuous improvement. Embrace teamwork. Accept and deliver meaningful feedback.

• Able to search and interpret literature and is cognizant of competitor technology and intellectual property.

• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications is required.

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in order to deal effectively with external customers and internal personnel generate written reports and make technical presentations.

 
• Travel: Up to 30 %: Product launch, field support and meetings may necessitate travel and overnight stays.
