We’ve been engaged to recruit a forward-thinking Controller with a dynamic and innovative team based in Indianapolis, IN. In this pivotal role, you’ll play a crucial part in steering the financial direction and accounting practices of our client’s organization, ensuring precision, compliance, and strategic financial planning are at the forefront of your mission.

Your Role and Impact:

  • Financial Stewardship: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and managing accounts payable, high-volume inventory, accounts receivable, accruals, and bank reconciliations. Your precision will underpin our financial reporting and adherence to US GAAP, reflecting our operations comprehensively.
  • Strategic Oversight: Provide valuable insights and analyses to aid in the crafting of consolidated financials and budget forecasts. Your analytical skills will identify potential areas of improvement, red flags, and opportunities for growth, directly influencing strategic decisions.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive improvements in financial and operational systems, with an emphasis on efficiency in handling wholesale/retail environments and familiarization with EDI connections for e-commerce efforts. Ability to centralize and streamline accounting functions will bolster transparency and efficiency across our financial operations.
  • Leadership and Development: As a mentor and guide to junior team members, your expertise will foster an environment of learning, growth, and development. Your leadership will ensure the finance team operates at peak efficiency, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
What You Bring to the Table:

  • A proven track record of leadership within finance, boasting at least 10+ years of experience, ideally complemented by a tenure in public accounting and auditing.
  • A history of managing financial operations in wholesale/retail sectors and handling extensive product inventories is essential.
  • A solid foundation in NetSuite, with exceptional skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with financial management in e-commerce environments that include EDI connections.
  • Experience with M&A activities is necessary.
  • An in-depth understanding of multi-entity consolidation and intercompany transactions, underpinned by excellent management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Experience in the CPG industry and a startup environment will be highly regarded.

Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid)
This position allows for on-site work in our Indianapolis office, paired with the flexibility to work remotely from home on certain days, offering a balanced approach to career development and personal well-being. You must be located or willing to relocate within convenient driving distance of the office.

Compensation and Benefits:
Our competitive compensation package includes a salary range of $175k – $200k, complemented by a 10-20% bonus. We provide a strong benefits package including flexible PTO to encourage a work-life balance
