THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in all phases of plant operation. Prepares operation schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality meet specifications. Reports to the Plant Manager. direct reports include 2 maintenance techs and 3 supervisors. (does not need maintenance experience for this position)

  • Responsible for production of finished goods in metal shop
  • Responsible for uptime/downtime/PM schedules for equipment throughout plant
  • Implementation of maintenance management software and day to day usage to track equipment
  • Efficiency improvement of weld shop and equipment in the area. This includes flow and set up of jobs.
  • Direct reports include metal manufacturing leadership and maintenance
  • Ability to read and understand prints
  • Previous maintenance experience in manufacturing in a leadership role
  • Maintenance vendor relationship Manager

BACKGROUND PROFILE:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 or more years relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations, and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment, and site
  • Knowledge of day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements, and management of a manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of the physical environment and full spectrum of activities for management an maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques for preventing and addressing theft of assets, theft of information, vandalism, sabotage and other threats to a manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical, and logistics equipment used in manufacturing including its safe usage, maintenance, and storage
  • Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manager, while setting an example and of safety practices for all direct reports and other associates
  • Ability to be available outside of normal work hours as needed
  • Ability to assess employee performance and coach and develop associates
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with employees and management at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to use and influence organizational policies, standards, and procedures guiding manufacturing practices
  • Metals experience is a plus
