Job Overview
Our client is a large division of a Fortune 500 corporation with multiple diverse manufacturing businesses. Supply Chain issues and Global Trade have added complexity to the Logistics processes. With a major Oracle powered ERP implementation in process, it is imperative to have Logistics representation in the planning and execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop the IT infrastructure to support the Logistics project implementation.
- Participate in the process re-engineering of the Logistics process areas.
- Identify and implement the computing environment including the hardware and operating systems platform
- Identify the hosting partner (3PLs and 4PLs), and develop SLAs to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of the Logistics application software solution.
- Work with the application vendor, the divisions, and outside consultants to define the application configurations for running a multi-division Logistics system.
- Identify and design back end division interface processes and requirements, and select and implement an EAI solution (if required).
- Develop technical project plans and track plans for multiple logistics initiatives.
- Work with selected 4PLs and 3PLs, domestic consultants, and offshore resources as required to ensure that we achieve the best solutions at the best cost.
Requirements
- BS Information Systems or related discipline.
- One year of eBusiness experience.
- Strong Logistics background in a distribution/transportation intensive company.
- Understanding of Oracle ERP applications and database technology.
- Experience with Oracle Order Management and Procurement.
- Understanding of EAI (Enterprise Applications and Integration) tools and implementation.
- 5 to 10 years experience in the management and deployment of Information Systems in the Mfg Industry.
- Previous background in consulting is desirable.
- Proven IS project management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
